Tips for Parenting teens..

Teenage is a age in which teens are like, the one travelling in a boat mid sea and needs a sailor who can sail their boat in right direction. So parents should become that sailor.

  • The more you know better you can prepare:- So first step is to educate yourself about the teenage.Read the books giving information on teenage.Read what can happen in teenage and thus prepare yourself.
  • Put yourself in your child's place:- Listen properly to your ward and react on a situation only after thinking what would you have done if you had been in that condition in which your teen is right now.
  • Do not object on every change :-Do not intervene your child on every change. Your child may want to have a new funky haircuts, nail paints, want to wear stylish clothes. Try to know why your child want to have that change. Object on things that matters their physical health and change them permanently such as tobacco, drugs, alcohol.
  • Do not compare Never compare your teen with any other. Being teens, its our experience, teens hate comparence. Remember every child is special. And everyone has some demerits. Try to think: Are you not only seeing the demerits of your teen? Its your duty to tell them about their disqualities, but don't forget to praise them too.

An Important Urge To All The Parents:

In this age teens only want to be understood by someone. They just want a person with whom they can share all their feelings. And this role can be best played by a parent. As a parent, observe your teen carefully to determine whether he or she is experiencing a temporary bout of sadness, or something much more serious, such as teen depression. If your child is depressed, she will enjoy a much speedier recovery with early detection and treatment along with the development of effective coping skills. Remember, your love and support will be an important part of treating depression in your teen.
